Simon is an excellent trainer with wide knowledge and experience in this field. He made us practice repeatedly to get comfortable with what we need to do in emergency situations. I would highly recommend this course to my colleagues and friends.

Good balance of classroom theory/ practical inside and outside. Trainer exhibited substantial knowledge, experience and patience. Allowed input from students and check everyone was happy before moving on. Reasurance of less is more, and driving home the impoprtance of airway/ breathing. The accompanying book is a handy size, nice quailty and well layed out. Thank you very much Simon.

An excellent course and a good emphasis on doing the basic things well, which I think past courses haven't done so well. Glad that current practices favour a more simplistic approach.

It was a tough ask, delivering the course all day on a Sunday to a bunch of teachers, but Simon did a great job. He gave practical and real life examples, created a warm atmosphere in the classroom, gave immediate feedback, answered questions.

This was the best Outdoor First Aid Course I've attended so far. What made it most useful was not only the excellent trainer, but also the amount of hands-on practice. Simon clearly knew his stuff and kept us engaged the whole weekend. Thank you, Simon!

Cumbria Woodlands - June 2013

I thought Simon ran a very interesting and professional course. He had the right mix of being focused on teaching the skills, practical sessions to try out what we were being taught and relaxed way to ensure all participants had an enjoyable time. I felt great confidence in his teaching as when he was asked questions that were more in depth than the course would normally go he was able to to share his apparent deep knowledge and experience in that area. Very impressed with the whole course.

Very good emphasis on practical skills that really got home the basic routine, which is what is most needed. I think the added stress element added to some exercises helped to give a more realistic experience.

Massive thanks to Simon and Pete, you were genuinely great instructors. I thought you handled the balance between being informative and personable absolutely excellently, managing to put us all at ease whilst giving us the obviously incredibly important skills. I honestly cannot fault you at all so please just keep doing what you are doing. Cheers

The reenactments of scenarios that we might encounter were particularly useful in thinking about how one would actually approach giving first aid when the situation required it.

Simon is an excellent trainer, his practical approach made learning easy and fun. Over the years I have done many first aid courses, both in and outside. This course was by far the most engaging and enjoyable. Simon's approach to training is down to earth and common sense, just what you need when you're trying to remember your ABC's...

Singapore International Schools, January 2012
All good, I enjoy the atmosphere that Simon engenders. He maintains his professionalism but is able to put participants at ease with his manner. This enables us to concentrate on the tasks at hand. First Aid can be very nerve racking for all concerned and these courses really help to take some of the stress out of learning it, whilst instilling the serious nature of the training.
Kimlan Cook, Registrar, UWCSEA
Simon Clooney was great! He made the course interesting by ensuring that we had enough practice using scenarios we can relate with and applicable for our job.

Just half an hour too long outside on the final day! Tired, cold and very windy weather, and we had an excellent input and practical session, but by this time we were just 30-45 minutes too long. It was an excellent two days however, and the venue and course tutor were excellent.
John AtkinsonGood course, practical & pragmatic, well paced, good info to practice ratio.
Last hour of final day- cold & tired- not at my best for learning!

Many thanks for the course Simon It was a very enjoyable and informative two days.I shal reccomend this course to others.

hi Simon,
Just to let you know that a few days after the first aid training at Dover I was at a karate tournament and one guy split another guy's eyelid around the eye socket, blood everywhere, the pre-arranged paramedics had not yet turned up, so I got in there, used my training with the woeful community center first aid kit and had him sit tight til the paramedics came who told him exactly what I said which was he needed stitches and shouldnt continue the tournament.
So thanks for the training - its helping me out no end.
Cheers
Luke

Really enjoyable couple of days. Valuable skills taught and we were given the confidence to deploy them.

Brilliant in every way - pace, active involvement, self and peer assessment If the final part of the 2nd day (when tired) on bites etc could involve props/videos it would help maintain the attention span easier...

The two day first aid course was excellent and an essential life skill that all teachers and school support staff should complete! The practical, hands on and interactive approach was incredibly engaging, thought provoking, fun and most importantly enjoyable! Simon was an outstanding trainer - his easy going manner and subtle, pragmatic approach and style of delivery was refreshing yet extremely dynamic and informative. A superb course and trainer!

South East Asia International Schools August 2011

The fact that time flew is always a great indicator that you are on a good course. Having completed this course three years previously it was great to have the opportunity to go over the material again. The part of this course I enjoyed the most was having the opportunity to practice the First Aid skills over and over again as this really does help to fix them in your brain. Simon was excellent at explaining why we were carrying out the different parts of the first aid treatment and how they would help. By going outside and trying out our skills there really made you feel it was real.
HT, Assistant Principal Student Welfare, Bangkok Patana

Simon was an exceptional instructor. It is the first time I have left a First Aid course with enough confidence to truly believe I could be of some help at an accident scene.
Thank you!
KR, Counselor, Jakarta International School

I learned far more than I expected to and really enjoyed doing it. I think I could save someone's life if I were in the situation where I wouldn't have otherwise. Simon was great.
SL

Despite previous training in first aid, I began the course with a great deal of anxiety and discomfort about my abilities as a first aid responder--16 hours later my confidence soared and I now feel better-prepared to respond during an emergency. For me, the most valuable part of this course was the continual practical application and repeated practice of DR ABC...! Thanks Simon!
